Altenew July 2020 Stencils/Enamel Dots/Creative Cutouts/Decals Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hey everyone, I'm so excited to be part of Altenew's Serenity release blog hop. I had so much fun creating some cards and a scrapbook layout with this fun new release. Please make sure you keep scrolling for all the info about the blog hop and giveaway details!

For my first card, I kept it super simple. I used the Cloud Scene stencil with some light blue ink blending on a piece of white cardstock. This stencil is totally magic... It looks super crazy when it comes out of the package, but after lightly inking from the bottom of my paper to the top whilst flipping, rotating and placing the stencil at some odd angles... The result is stunning! However you use this stencil, I can guarantee the results will be foolproof!

I placed a square frame over my inked background, which I popped up with some foam to create some dimension. I used a couple of floral stickers from the Our Family collection to frame the card, added a bird wood veneer from the Reflection collection and stamped a sentiment from the Painted Butterflies stamp set. And to finish things off I added some of the new Shades of Purple enamel dots!

For my other card I was inspired by the new Creative Cutouts Nested Wreath. The smallest wreath is the perfect size to fit on a card and I immediately knew I had to use this wreath to frame a shaker card!

I cut a circle into a square piece of woodgrain patterned paper (from the Reflection collection), backed it with a piece of acetate which I then added my wreath over. I added a Celebrate sentiment (from the Celebrations stamp set) on my square card base and added some foam tape to hold the clear sequins within the window. For a pop of colour I added some roses and leaves from the Vintage Roses stamp set.

And finally, I created a scrapbook layout. I created another shaker using the medium size wreath from the Creative Cutouts, using the same method as my previous card. I also backed this with an inked background using the Cloud scene stencil and the treeline border from the Mountain Scene stencil. For some extra whimsy I also drew some simple bird silhouettes using a black pen.

For some tone-on-tone texture on my background, I used the Moroccan Mosaic Creative Cutouts. I embellished my page with butterflies stamped from the Painted Butterflies stamp set, which adds a nice contrast to the earthy tones of the shaker window, I also added some smatterings of the Shades of Purple Enamel dots. Altenew enamel dots are perfect, since there are so many in a pack in such beautiful shades and the ideal sizes!
