Felt Advent Calendar | DCVW

Hey everyone! I'm back today with my second Christmas project for DCVW, and if you missed my first post click here to see the scrapbook page I created!

DCWV also sent me one of their project packs, and I received the Felt Tree Advent calendar.

The pack comes with everything you need to create one of these calendars, and it was so easy and fun to put together. I think it would also be the perfect activity to keep the kids busy on a rainy afternoon!

The pack comes with pre-cut felt pieces, some ribbon, beads and gems as well as instructions on how to put everything together. But what I really appreciated about the pack, is that there were more shapes than I needed to create the calendar. So I've saved all of those cute little ornaments to use on my other Christmas crafty projects.

Whilst you can just use some hot glue to adhere everything, of course I couldn't resist doing some hand-stitching! I used a simple running stitch to adhere all of the square pockets onto the backing piece, and I love the cute texture and detail this adds.

I also stitched on the ornaments, using different types of stitches like a blanket stitch on the mittens and french knots to create cute little faces for the gingerbread men!

The pack also comes with velcro dots which I hot glued one half of onto the back of the ornaments and the opposite half onto the green felt tree.

I've actually gifted this calendar to a friend who is a teacher. And what she is going to do is put all of the ornaments into the pockets and each day let a child pop that day's ornament somewhere on the tree! She's really excited about it, and I'm sure the children will love it.

Thanks DCWV for the gorgeous Christmas supplies and putting me in a very festive spirit! I hope you're inspired to get crafty this Holiday season with some DCWV goodies!
